I spent the morning doing a final harvest of the season since the temps are going to drop tomorrow. Its crazy its the middle of November & everything is still blooming. We got some new blooms on flowers, the tomatoes have new blooms, and everything is still pretty green. So much new growth that will soon come to an end & I wanted to take it all in before the cold weather.

This morning, as Im setting up my week in my bullet journal, 3 affirmation cards fell out of the deck. After this past week, I think these were necessary reminders that everything happens for a reason, even if we dont know what the reason is yet. All I can do I keep doing the things I am in control of, including choosing how Im going to react/handle things, & trust the process. Progress is messy & sometimes, in order to keep moving forward, we have to take steps back. I am choosing to show up no matter what & regroup as many times as needed to keep moving forward.

Happy 3rd birthday, Pépé! You are such a character & keep us on our toes. Still so playful & cuddly. My shadow at all times. I still cant get over how you went from the smallest, most fragile kitten who needed to be bottle feed since the day you were born to this giant, dominating goofball. It had been a lovely start of November. I took this photo yesterday on our walk to the park. Today, Im enjoying a slow Sunday morning before getting chores done after getting an extra hour of sleep. Ive been journaling, reading magazines, watching Julie & Julia & resetting for the start of another week. I love the slow down of the season, the leaves changing & the coziness setting in.

Thats a wrap on October 2024! Were halfway through fall & Ive really enjoyed the changing of seasons, trying bloody marys for the 1st time, decorating for Halloween & closing one chapter so another can begin. On to the next!

Spent the day cleaning up the backyard for winter, pulling weeds (aka morning glorys that like to suffocate my roses & spread like crazy despite being pretty) & transplanting perennials from pots to the ground now that were back to 60°+ sunny days. I like how prepping the garden for winter creates a new, clean state, which is one of my favorite things about fall. Its setting the foundation for the next year of growth, which is exactly the season my life is in right now. It felt really good to finally have time to get some of these things done before winter. Theres still more yard work to do tomorrow & over the next couple of weeks, but this 1 section is much better shape than it was.

Friends - let me tell you, it 👏 has 👏 been 👏 a 👏 day. I would like to thank this mocha I had this morning for giving me the energy to get through it all & say Im grateful everything seems to be ok. Long story short, I was woken up before 4am to a carbon monoxide alarm that appears to have been a false alarm from a bad detector but it caused much panic, anxiety, stress & triggered some trauma response from taking care of my dad & having to go into emergency mode. Everything is ok. I still got stuff done that needed to be done. It didnt derail my day & everyone is safe. But I am exhausted. Im looking forward to snuggling in tonight with comfort food, movies & cat cuddles & hopefully, Ill get a good nights sleep.

What a gorgeous fall morning! If anyone is in need of mums, pumpkins & corn stalks, I highly recommend Meinkes. Weve been coming here my entire life & they never disappoint. We picked up some corn, gourds, pumpkins & squash to add to what we already have. Loving this time of year!

Now that temps arent in the 80s consistently, Im finally getting into fall. This past weekend, we got some gourds, pumpkins & mums & I set up fall decor in our dining room. My grandma Ruth used to always change her decor for every season/holiday. This isnt as extensive as what she did, but it makes a difference. Im really looking forward to the changing of the seasons & the coziness that comes with fall & winter. Ill be starting my fall/Halloween/holiday movie marathons soon, which has become a nice tradition to enjoy this time of tear. Q4 is always a magical time that grounds me & keeps me present ❤️🍂🍁🎃
